    Self-compassion is everything

    Even if you are super scared, be kind to yourself. Treat yourself with the same compassion you would offer a close friend in the same situation. Be your main support: say kind words, hug yourself, speak with a gentle voice. Change criticism to empathy.

    This is huge. Most fearful fliers are incredibly harsh on themselves. They feel ashamed of their fear. They think they are weak or broken. But here is the thing - fear of flying is not a weakness. It is your nervous system doing what it was designed to do - protect you. The problem is not you. The problem is that the protection system fires in the wrong context. So be kind to yourself. You deserve it.
